Description
The Medium Carbon Ferrochrome is made from ferrosilicon by further refining reduced chromium ore, which has a steel-gray luster and a hard appearance. This material is an important and indispensable alloy used in the production of stainless steel, with a carbon content ranging from 0.1% to 0.5%, and is widely used in the aviation, aerospace, automotive and defense industries. Its carbon content extends its melting point and increases its hardness, improving oxidation and corrosion resistance during the casting process. Additionally, the material is typically available in blocks, ranging in size from 10mm to 100mm, and can be customized.
Features
1. Ease of processing: In addition to chromium and iron, Medium Carbon Ferrochrome also contains carbon and other elements such as silicon, sulfur and phosphorus, which provide benefits when making stainless steel. For example, when the content does not exceed 3%, silicon can increase the elastic limit and yield strength of steel, and can also protect the metal surface from corrosion. Its carbon component can increase the fluidity of molten steel during the production process, allowing it to fully fill the mold to produce industrial stainless steel parts of different shapes.
2. Hard material: The combination ratio of chromium and iron can vary, but the proportion of chromium remains between 50% and 70%, and the Mohs hardness reaches 8.5, which can provide anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties.
