Manganese distribution
Jul 03, 2022
By the end of 2007, China's manganese ore (ore) proved resource reserves of 792.935 million tons, of which basic reserves were 224.437 million tons (reserves were 127.141 million tons) and resources were 568.498 million tons. The proven reserves of manganese ore in my country are distributed in 23 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country, but they are mainly concentrated in Guangxi (281.259 million tons, accounting for 35.5%), Hunan (158.450 million tons, accounting for 20.0%), and Yunnan (92.157 million tons, accounting for 20.0%). accounting for 11.6%), Guizhou (79.815 million tons, accounting for 10.1%), Liaoning (41.901 million tons, 5.3%) and Chongqing (41.276 million tons, accounting for 5.2%), the six provinces total 694.858 million tons, accounting for the national manganese ore proven resources 87.6% of the total reserves.
There are many manganese ore resources in China, which are widely distributed. They are produced in 21 provinces (autonomous regions) across the country. There are 213 mining areas with proven reserves, with a total reserve of 566 million tons of ore, ranking third in the world. There are few manganese-rich ore in China, accounting for only 6.4% of the reserved reserves. From the perspective of regional distribution, Guangxi and Hunan are the most abundant, accounting for 55% of the country's total reserves, followed by Guizhou, Yunnan, Liaoning and Sichuan. From the genetic type of deposits, sedimentary manganese deposits are the main ones, such as Xialei manganese deposit in Guangxi, Zunyi manganese deposit in Guizhou, Xiangtan manganese deposit in Hunan, Zhushan town manganese deposit in Lingling District, Yongzhou, Wafangfang manganese deposit in Liaoning, Leping manganese deposit in Jiangxi, etc. - Sedimentary deposits, such as Xinjiang Moto Sala iron-manganese deposit; metamorphic deposits, such as Sichuan Huya manganese ore, etc.; hydrothermally transformed manganese deposits, such as Hunan Manaoshan manganese ore; epigenetic manganese deposits, such as Guangxi Qinzhou manganese ore. From the perspective of metallogenic age, manganese deposits have been formed from Proterozoic to Quaternary, with Sinian and Devonian being the most important.
